Setting Up POP3/IMAP Email Box on Nokia E71

Posted on In Mobile

The software in Nokia E71 already support POP3 and IMAP email box. But we may lead to install Nokia messaging and setting up account of Nokia messaging. Storing our emails in remote servers isn’t a secure way. And why not use IMAP directly if it is supported by the system software? How to set up POP3 or IMAP email box on Nokia E71 will be introduced in this post.

First create a new mailbox by select:

Menu -> Communic. -> Messaging -> Optioins -> Settings -> E-mail -> Options -> New mailbox -> Start

Allow connection? select NO. This is the most important part. Otherwise, we will be lead to install Nokia Messaging again.

E-mail address: your email address

Password: password

User name: user name

Then you will get a message that the account can’t be defined. It will ask us for the email client:

Select POP3/IMAP in the next screen:

You will get a wizard after that:

Then just follow the wizard and you will set up a email account using POP3 or IMAP.

    1. hi Riu!
      i have a similar problem like your but the difference is instead of automatically creating the account in POP3, it sets it to IMAP and doesnt allow me to change it to POP3..
      do you think it might be related to some internal email setting in the phone??
